Air Passenger Rights at Harry Reid International Airport

Compensation Amounts (per EU 261/EC 261):
- Flights up to 1,500 km: €250 per passenger
- Flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km: €400 per passenger
- Flights over 3,500 km: €600 per passenger

Types of Disruptions Covered:
- Flight delays of 3 hours or more at arrival
- Flight cancellations less than 14 days before departure
- Denied boarding due to overbooking

Exceptions:
- No compensation is due if the disruption was caused by extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline's control (e.g., extreme weather, air traffic control strikes, security risks).
For flights between Harry Reid International Airport and the EU, especially with airlines like British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, your rights to compensation are protected under EU 261 and EC 261. If your flight was delayed more than 3 hours or cancelled at short notice, you may be entitled to up to €600 compensation per person.
To qualify under EU 261, your flight must either:
- Depart from any airport within the EU/UK (regardless of airline), or
- Arrive in the EU/UK on an airline registered in the EU/UK (such as British Airways or Virgin Atlantic), even if departing from Harry Reid International Airport.
