      Air Passenger Rights & Compensation

As a passenger flying with Polynesian Airlines, you are protected by robust air passenger rights regulations, especially when traveling within the European Union (EU) or on flights departing from the EU. Under EU Regulation 261/2004 (commonly referred to as EU 261 or EC 261), you may be entitled to compensation if your flight is delayed, cancelled, or you are denied boarding. It's important to note that these rights apply if your flight either departs from an EU airport, or if you are flying to the EU on a carrier headquartered in the EU.

If your Polynesian Airlines flight originated within the EU, you are covered by EC 261 rules regardless of your destination. However, if your flight originated outside the EU and was operated by a non-EU airline, these regulations do not apply. The compensation amounts are determined by the distance of your flight: for flights up to 1,500 km, you may claim up to €250 per person; for flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km, up to €400; and for flights over 3,500 km, up to €600. In addition to compensation, you may be entitled to meals, refreshments, and hotel accommodations when facing long delays or overnight cancellations.
